Why We Built This Site
Illinois offers several public access routes, but no single system contains every part of a Clinton County matter. The sheriff and jail maintain local incident, booking, and custody material. The Circuit Clerk keeps filed charges, docket events, orders, and dispositions. Illinois State Police, Bureau of Identification maintains the statewide repository. The Illinois Department of Corrections and state sex offender registry serve different purposes. We organize the official contacts, portals, fees, and request steps for these offices.
What You Will Find Here
- Record guides: how criminal court cases are found and read in Clinton County
- Official check instructions: how Illinois name inquiries and fingerprint self-review differ
- Agency contacts: where to reach the sheriff, Circuit Clerk, and statewide systems
- Record relief: where Illinois expungement and sealing forms are filed
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to an Illinois court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Those boundaries mean:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file expungement or sealing petitions, records requests, or other paperwork for you
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
An official copy must come from the Clinton County Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Illinois State Police, or the agency that created and maintains the record.
Search Partners
Third-party providers operate search boxes found on some pages. They control their services, results, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that helps support this free resource. We neither set the provider's charges nor control the records it returns.
